I am a very experienced and successful English teacher. I combine fun and hard work for results. I am extremely passionate, and dedicated to learning and education, believing that speedy progress comes from organised hard work but relies on a supportive and enthusiastic teacher who is able to inject the unusual and the fun to aid understanding and memory. I have always developed professional but friendly relationships with my students and I am extremely proud of the progress they make and the results they achieve. I am fun-loving and out-going - as a teacher should be! And, although my professional life has followed an academic path, I am at heart an artist and love to create and be creative. This is reflected in many of the activities I use in my teaching.

- When are you available?
I am readily available weekdays but weekend tutoring will require a special request.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can help any student of any age. My area of expertise is with 11-18 year olds.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I use Skype to tutor online if the student wants a face-to-face tutorial or a voice tutorial. If the student, or the student's parents would prefer, I have conducted very successful lessons using the Skype instant messenger which does not require the student to speak. This should really only be used if the student has a particular need meaning they lack confidence with strangers and this impedes their learning.
Parents are more than welcome to observe lessons (online or otherwise) and even to join in, if they are keen)
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have 15 years teaching experience. This has mostly been in secondary schools but I have also frequently tutored one-to-one and online. I have spent many years as lead teacher for A level English Language and for GCSE English and English Literature and have lead my own English/Drama/Media faculty.

• I belong to the GTC
