Playing an instrument is fun!

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach both Viola and Violin.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I am currently pursuing a BMus (Hons) degree in viola performance at the Royal College of Music, London.
I also have a BA in Spanish from Tufts University, USA.

- How much do you charge?

I charge 15 pounds for 30-45 minute lessons and 30 pounds for 1-1.5 hours lesson. The first lesson is free. I don't generally charge extra for travel.

- Where do you teach?

I can teach at my home or the student's home depending on the distance. I live in St. Johns Wood (NW8). I am happy to travel to Hampstead, Marylebone, Swiss Cottage, South Kensington, Bayswater, Central London, or anywhere else in the area.

- When are you available?

I am available weekday late afternoon/evenings, and weekend all day generally. I have quite a flexible schedule.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach all ages from complete beginners to more advanced students.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I can help students prepare for ABRSM or Trinity/Guildhall exams.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £40 an hour for violin, viola and music theory lessons. I typically do not charge extra for travel.

- Where do you teach?

I teach at my home or at my student's home. I can teach in St. John's Wood, Marylebone, Hampstead, Baker Street, Highgate, Kentish Town, Belsize Park, South Kensington, Victoria, Finchley Road, West Hampstead, Kilburn, Swiss Cottage, Islington, Angel, Finsbury Park, Mayfair, Westminster, City of London.
I am willing to travel up to 30 minutes for one student. I could travel longer if its for more than one student.

- When are you available?

I am available every day of the week and also teach during school holidays.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach students from ages 5 - 85.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity/Guidhall Exams in violin, viola and music theory. I can also help students with youth orchestra auditions.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I have a computer with FaceTime and Skype for teaching music theory.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

For me, playing violin and viola should feel as natural as possible and I try to help my students achieve this in the way I feel is best for them. My aim is to help students find the joy in learning an instrument and look forward to their lesson each week!

- What kind of experience do you have?

I currently teach students from various backgrounds, abilities and age levels. I had several pupils in the Boston area while I was a student at Tufts University. I have played in numerous orchestras and chamber groups at the Royal College of Music. I have also attended a few summer festivals and courses.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

No.

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been teaching violin and viola to school aged children (age 4 -18) since 2010. I currently teach at the Questor's Young Musicians Saturday music school in Ealing and have several private students. I am always preparing students for ABRSM exams and have prepared students for youth orchestra auditions in which some have achieved principal places. In addition to teaching, I also currently practise with two students who study the Suzuki method. I also teach Music Theory.

Yes

- Where and with whom did you train?

I studied with Martin Outram at the Royal Academy of Music and Ian Jewel at the Royal College of Music. I was also a member of Southbank Sinfonia 2017, an orchestral fellowship.
