My lessons will always be given differently depending on each student personality, technical level and musical voice. I'm able to teach any student, from the very beginning until even undergraduate level students, and the priority will always be to bring the deepest emotion out of their minds and make the act of expressing way easier throughout music. However, a strong technical basis is always required, so, generalizing, the lessons will be divided in 3 parts:
- technical development and guidance (scales, etc)
- "etude" that will help the student to connect technical aspects with music
- small piece to explore and apply the interpretation creativity
Feel free to ask for specific technical guidance or to bring your own choices of music!
Looking forward to meet you!
Hi there, I'm a portuguese violist and I'm doing my Postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music since last September.
I love teaching especially long term students so their development can be consistent. This is mainly because music is the best tool to express emotions and feelings, and there is no better sensation of helping others to learn this new language and to be able to use it as their minds tell them to.
Feel free to ask for technical guidance or to bring your own choices of music!
If you want to start learning violin or viola or want to improve your knowledge of the instrument feel free to contact me!
Looking forward to meet you.

Having partnered professionally with José in the past, I feel confident to share his extraordinary skills as a musician and tutor. Hard-working, adaptable, great communicator, working with José can't be more than a great, easy going experience. Highly recommended.
Very talented, very kind and very patient. There’s no failure with José, it’s all part of a bigger process of learning and maturation. I would highly recommend him as a tutor.
José is a very competent tutor! His communication skills, kindness and energy while teaching motivated me to reach my best. I definitely recommend him to anyone, young or old, beginner or advanced.
