Violin and Viola Teacher in East Dulwich SE22 - Beginner to advanced levels. Professional musician and graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music.

Methodology

I am a professional viola player with many years of teaching experience. I love both teaching and performing and therefore am always keen to help my students. I've just moved to East Dulwich and hope to set up a teaching practise here in East Dulwich.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

Violin and viola from beginner to Music College standard.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have completed a Bachelor of Music from the Royal Academy of Music and a Masters from the Royal College of Music. At these leading conservatories I was privileged to be able to study with the most accomplished teachers and musicians.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £40 per hour, however the term is normally paid for in advance (for 10 lessons) and I always manage to squeeze a few extra in free of charge!

- Where do you teach?

I teach at my home in East Dulwich SE22 where I have a music room with all you need for a productive music lesson - a piano, lots of music books, stands, lots of room, metronomes etc(!) I am close to the station and the bus stop, there is also free parking on my street

- When are you available?

I am available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3-6pm and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I normally teach all year round if my students want lessons in holidays.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

All ages and all levels from beginner to advanced (music college standard)

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

Graded exams (ABRSM or equivalent)
Secondary school entrance auditions and scholarship auditions

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I love performing and teaching, and enjoy helping students to be able to enjoy music as much as I do.

Background

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have 10 years of teaching experience and have been trained to teach by the Junior department at the Royal Academy of Music, where I taught for 7 years. I also completed a teacher training qualification at RAM. In addition to this, I have privately taught violin and viola for the past 10 years. I also have a great deal of experience training children for graded exams and scholarship auditions - all of my students receive top marks in their exams.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I have a CRB check from the Royal Academy of Music

- Where and with whom did you train?

Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music with Principal viola at the Royal Opera House

I know Cassandra both as a teacher and a player. She is a dedicated, professional violist, and a conscientious teacher. Her students consistently gain high marks in exams, and she has turned around students who previously showed little promise. Her students all love her and work hard for her.

Cassandra is a dedicated, highly skilled and inspiring teacher. She is very patient and calm wirh a skill for bringing out the very best in her pupils ensuring they reach an excellent standard. She has developed my children’s technique and sound immeasurably and they love her teaching style and as a result have grown significantly in confidence. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
