Spanish-South Korean violinist Judith Choi Castro graduated with a Masters degree from the Royal Academy of Music in 2011. She also holds a BMus Hons degree from the Royal College of Music, having also studied one year at Manhattan School of Music in New York.
Judith has played solo recitals and chamber music recitals in London, in venues such as Steinway Hall, St. Lawrence Jewry, V&A Museum, DukeÂ´s hall, Cadogan Hall, Crush Room of the Royal Opera House, and National Gallery as part of the Belle Shenkman Music Programme concert series. Outside the UK, she has performed concerts in France, Spain, Japan and in 2007 made her debut at the Lincoln Center in New York with the Rondo Chamber Orchestra. In 2006, she was awarded with the J.E Motimer award from Martin Musical Scholarship Foundation. In 2012, Judith played as a soloist with the Southbank Sinfonia playing Bach Double Concerto with the renowned baroque violinist Adrian Butterfield.
Besides being a solo and chamber musician, Judith also plays in orchestra. She was a member of the Bremen Youth Orchestra, the EUYO and the Southbank Sinfonia. She has played with the HallÃ© Orchestra in Manchester, and participated in Orchestra courses such as the MMCJ in Japan, and the London Sinfonietta Academy. As an orchestra player, Judith has played in the greatest halls, including the Albert Hall, Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall, or the Royal Concertgebouw and has worked with eminent conductors such as Andrew Litton, Christopher Warren- Green, Alan Gilbert, Leif Sergestam, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir Mark Elder and Bernard Haitink.
