Every student is unique, and lessons are focussed around each pupil's individual needs and interests. I have experience of successfully guiding students through ABRSM exams and auditions, but also enjoy encouraging students who just want to learn for fun! I believe in developing solid basics of technique, musicianship and sound, enabling students to develop their musicality and creativity.
During social distancing I am able to offer lessons online (e.g. via Skype or Zoom).
I am a professional performing violinist and teacher with experience of private tutoring and teaching in schools. Organisations I have worked for as a violin tutor include Camden Music Service and London Music Masters, and I have also recently delivered education projects with The Scottish Chamber Orchestra and The Sixteen. I am able to teach violin, viola, piano (beginners), music theory and academic/curriculum music.
I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music (BMus) in 2015, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland/University of Glasgow (MMus) in 2016.

My daughter really enjoys Kirsty' teaching. She has progressed very well and has developed a good interest in music.
Kirsty communicates very well and sets good homework which is easy to follow. We are very happy with all she has done.
Kirsty is a wonderful violin teacher, she is kind, smiley and patient yet still ensures our daughter remains focused and interested during lessons. Our daughter has continued to make good progress via web calls under Kirsty’s tuition and says she enjoys having lessons in this way. I highly recommended Kirsty as a violin teacher for children.
Kirsty taught my Daughter, who is now 16 years old, to rekindle her enthusiasm for the Violin and to help her with her Music GCSE.
I would really recommend Kirsty as an excellent Tutor, who is very patient, makes the lessons interesting and keeps the lessons structured but is willing to be flexible according to the needs of the Student. Kirsty was always Professional and punctual and completely reliable. My Daughter really enjoyed her lessons.
Having not picked up my violin for 18 years, Kirsty has guided me back into playing and has managed to instill me with enough confidence as well as dramatically improve my technique so that I'm both enjoying playing again and managing to hit the right notes.
Kirsty has always been a pleasure to work with. She is always reliable and extremely organised. Not only is she an expert in her field but she is also an empathetic teacher who always strives to give her students the best.
