I am studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on a scholarship, previously having studied as a specialist Musician at Wells Cathedral School. Music is my greatest passion, so I am happy to teach anyone - even those who are unsure, just want to try out music or play only as a hobby.
On the other hand I also teach serious students who are aspiring musicians. My main goal as a teacher is to improve technical ability, create stylistic understanding and grow musicality.
I have teaching experience for both violin and viola, ranging from complete beginners to advanced players.
In the past I have done projects with primary schools to introduce music to young children and coach chamber groups, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have also worked with high school students, which has helped some achieve IB's (International Baccalaureate) CAS and helped others pass music grades from grade 3-6. I currently have 6 students ranging from the age of 7 to 18.
Having been an orchestra leader of several groups since the age of 12, I am well experienced in working with other musicians and coaching large groups as well as small ones.
I myself have ABRSM grade 8, which was awarded the highest mark in New Zealand of 2012 with 145/150, and a Trinity College London ATCL diploma, both with distinction.
I have performed around the world, including Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand, Israel and England. Such performances have been not only solo but also chamber and orchestral concerts.
My base rate is 35 pounds, but if public transport is required to go to a students house, I ask for an extra 5 pounds to cover the expense.
