I am passionate about engaged teaching methods that can inspire students of any age with a love for historical study. I am available for one-to-one lessons online or in person. Sessions focus on analysis of both original sources and historians' writings, to suit the level of the student.
My academic expertise is in British urban history, the history of the British Empire, and environmental history, but I have broad interests and am happy to teach other periods.
I am new to private tutoring, but have previously taught English and Maths at Year 5 level. I am keen to share my historical skills with students, and interested in teaching methods that can engage people in active learning. I have worked in Technology Enhanced Learning and so am aware of the specific challenges of distance learners, and various ways of approaching these.
