I am a 20 year old university student from London, at home for the summer, offering beginner and complete newcomer guitar tuition in the borough of Havering. I aim to teach new starting guitarists a basic set of skills to be a foundation for later learning, while keeping each individual's goals and musical interests the focus of the tutoring.
Lessons will be structured over an hour with clear goals in mind, as we will be working with limited time I aim to make the lessons have a loose program feel to them, with the most important playing techniques dealt with first, and a less rigid format as students progress.
Due to the nature of my university study, I will provide newcomer students a fair amount of Information in the form of printouts, so that after I return to university at the end of the Summer, students will be able to consolidate their knowledge and revise the fundamentals of guitar playing, while knowing where to look for further study online and for a more long term guitar tutor in the future.
I have been playing guitar for 13 years, mainly in electric styles such as Metal, Rock and Funk. I have played in several bands, and performed many concerts playing in different musical styles.
My experience in guitar tutoring is limited to teaching a few friends and family over the years, and I have always enjoyed doing so, but without preparation and structured lessons it is difficult to see noticeable improvement.
I have spent many hours in the past writing lesson plans and writing down ideas about learning and progression in guitar playing, I am keen to help others experience the fun and satisfaction of the guitar for themselves, and hope to finally put my preparation into practice.
