About the lesson
I tailor each session especially for you.
Following our initial complimentary 30 minute telephone consultation where we define your individual requirements, I create a plan of action for us to help you achieve your goal. The purpose of this call is to also to determine whether we have the right chemistry and will work well together.
Previous work/a portfolio is great to see, if you’re a beginner we can discuss what you’d like to learn and achieve.
Whilst getting to know one another I may provide some resources for us to discuss so I can see how your brain interprets 3D relationships.
I am very honest with my approach, and will help you turn your weaknesses into strengths, as well as encouraging you to develop your own unique design style, brand & process (and the confidence to execute!).
I will encourage you to think outside the box & realise potential routes to your goal you hadn’t previously considered.
I’m helping you with:
• Collection curation, line up, technical drawings.
• Concept development; Broadening your perspective & exploring your creativity.
• Creating a vision and portfolio that demonstrates your designer DNA.
• Organising photo shoots, contacting models, photographers (film & digital), make up artists, hair stylists, studios, retouchers, milliners, shoe designers, knitters.
• NDA’s & contracts.
• How to speak with factories to ensure the prototype meets your specifications.
• Organising bespoke elements, for example: 3D printed buttons, gold and silver work, CLO3D, laser cut features, digital and hand embroidery, custom knits.
• Collecting the right ingredients & contacts to start a fashion label.
• How to create a story for your brand that is authentic & timeless.
• Improving your drawing & collaging skills.
• Where to find amazing fabrics, papers & trimmings!
• Developing original textiles.
• Creating a pattern, and grading it.
• Using a sewing machine.
• Organising pattern cutting & seamstresses for toiles, one off garments & limited run lines.
• Designing your own fabric & having it printed.
• Designing an embroidery and having it produced.
• Dyeing fabric.
I provide 24 hour support.
Having a mentor not only offers a critical eye and advice on how to develop, but is also a chance to speak openly with someone who can understand the emotional struggles associated with working in Fashion industry. Part of my approach is to help you enjoy your work, and to find a way of making your work work for you.

INTENSIVE COURSES:
1. COLLECTION CURATION
I offer this service for those who need direction in executing their first collection, or for those who would like to focus on the designs/business element of the company.
Pattern cutting, seamstresses, technical drawings, dyeing, prints, embroidery, bespoke elements, hats, shoes, fit models, photographers, make up artists, hair stylists, photo shoots are all expedited to ensure the experience and results are optimised to couture level.
2. DISCOVERING FASHION DESIGN
For those who daydream about working in Fashion, want to start their own label or are applying to a Fashion Degree...
In this course we will discover your unique essence as a designer, you’ll learn how to bring your vision into reality. I will teach you the basics of fashion design, the fundamentals of garment construction specialised to your collection and introduce you to potential sample studios, seamstresses, models, photographers and stylists that may work well for your personal brand.
We will explore different ways of researching, drawing, collaging, fabric sourcing, discover textiles, develop a collection and create an authentic story that will captivate your audience.
(This course is a combination of in-person & remote, plus support in-between sessions, as the course is tailored to your individual needs, price is on request)
3. PRISTINE PORTFOLIO
Presentation, Layout, Collaging, Drawing, Draping and Textiles are all integral elements of a strong Portfolio.
In this workshop I help you improve a current portfolio or create one for the first time.
(3 sessions of 3 hours)
ONE TIME WORKSHOPS
1. RESEARCH
Sourcing eye-catching, cohesive research is essential in providing a strong framework for a collection. In this workshop we’ll look at different research methods, how to make the research personal to your brief, and how to interact with it for use in the collection.
(4 hours)
2. CREATE A PATTERN FOR YOUR OWN DESIGN
I will educate you on the fundamentals of luxury level patterns, the tools you need & how to cut a pattern. With a picture or drawing of your design, we will create a draft paper pattern, a toile in calico and a final pattern for your design.
(6 hours)
3. CREATE A STORY FOR YOUR BRAND
What is the glistening detail that defines your brand?
In this mind altering course we’ll explore how your brand is special & how to make it appeal to your target audience. We’ll write a brand manifesto and envision how you’ll bring the ideas to fruition.
(4 hours)
GROUP WORKSHOPS
I offer once a month workshops where you can meet students who are on the same journey as you. Throughout the hour we embark on an exploration of a specialised topic to help you further yourself as a designer. These workshops are by invitation only.

If you have an upcoming deadline you need help achieving, I am able to offer extra help on weekends and evenings to help you achieve your goal.

I am a Central Saint Martins Graduate holding both a BA in Fashion Print and a Foundation Degree.
I have 14 years experience in the fashion industry having worked for brands such as Celine, Loewe, Xander Zhou, Grayson Perry, Mimi Wade, Ashley Williams and Gucci. My speciality is designing one-of-a-kind, unique designs & textiles through a distinguished design vision. I have previously tutored students to gain entry onto the Central Saint Martins Fashion BA, as well as critiquing portfolios to industry standard. Concept development, collection curation & production for one off garments & limited run lines are amongst the many solutions I offer to emerging & established designers.

I went to Koral as I needed help developing my Design portfolio whilst applying for university.

Details
My specified travel costs are within London only. I am more than happy to travel further afield however it will incur a higher charge. Please note: My evening rate past 6pm is £120 per hour. I am available some weekends, my rate is £120 per hour on Saturday and £140 per hour on Sunday. Bank holidays and public holidays my rate is £180 per hour. If you have pre-booked a pack for a set time/day and you cannot make it, that session is non-refundable.
