I teach practical photography both film and digital. I do this via demonstrations and setting tasks. Photography taught on a trial and error system, the more you do, the better you become. I will critically analyse students work and prepare the students to examine their work critically. I teach the basics of composition and the manual techniques the camera allows. I also teach the history of photography and art and how they both inform each other. I help students with photography theory and essay writing skills if necessary. I am a teacher who is friendly and easy to get along with, I do not dictate to my learners, but I support them to get the best out of them. I am extremely passionate about both photography and passing on my own knowledge.
I have taught a range of levels from total beginners to level 3 BTEC. The majority of my students have gone on to the higher levels especially onto study photography at university level, this is something I am particularly proud of. I have taught students with learning difficulties, which I have done alot of personal learning on and have a lot of experience in.
My general rate is £20 an hour. Going up to £30 an hour for students with learning difficulties and special requirements.
For £30 a week I offer a proofreading service. You can email me your work any time of the week (as many times as you like) and I'll check it through and give feedback within 24hours.
