I base my lessons off what student's really need help with, so I'll take notice and notes and evaluate what areas the student needs help with - whether that's comprehension, reading, writing, speaking etc. I like to be engaging but also give the student the tools for understanding how language works.
I have taught English for 5 years around in different countries, and I am enthusiastic about teaching both children and adults to improve and understand English better. I can teach both individuals and have taught groups of up to 10.
I am an experienced English tutor; having taught in multiple countries to both adults and children. I have made lessons using existing textbooks as well as making my own lessons. I have completed TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSE (TEFL). I finished this course in 2019.
My philosophy for teaching is to create an engaging environment where students will naturally grow into the language. As someone who is eager to create conversation, I enjoy enabling discussion for students so that they can voice their opinions. I believe my warm and cooperative attitude lets my students feel secure and positive. I like to gain feedback from my students and receive advice from colleagues so that I can be an ever evolving teacher. Having worked in 1-1 classes as well as group classes; as I am a capable worker and thinker as well as a compassionate person who appreciates people's contribution and effort to create exciting results.
I completed my Journalism and Creative Writing degree from the University for the Creative Arts, UCA Farnham with 2:2 Honours, in June 2017. Always having a great passion for reading and literature, I had the great opportunity to study varied books, as well as write my own pieces. We also had the chance to critique other students' work, encouraging my crititical eye and ability to give feedback. This means I have a good understanding of language and the nuances of storytelling. Within Journalism, my main interest was in arts and culture, where I wrote about a variety of topics including gallery viewings, art discussions, and music presentations. I continued to write for a small online magazine (Vulturehound) afterwards writing art reviews. ((concealed information)
Before going to university I completed my art foundation year with a DISTINCTION grade at University for the Creative Arts, UCA Epsom studying Fashion Promotion. I was greatly encouraged to draw freely during this time. I learnt additional skills such as: styling, photography, and Photoshop. At this time I perfected how to to organise projects myself to create the best results. My understanding and relentless attitude towards work influenced my final successes.

Employment history and experience (from most recent to less recent):
Eureka Academy Education (UK):
Starting in October 2019, I started tutoring at Eureka’s Academy to help students achieve higher grades or enter into a higher level secondary school. I have had to teach comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, as well as having experience with GSCE exam preparation, and a touch of IETLS testing. I am given material to work from, but also the freedom to create and use my own lessons. Eureka is where I’ve had to adapt a lot since many students are forgetful, so every day is unpredictable and new. Young students love to talk about their interests, so there’s a special need on my part to make the lesson interesting and engaging.
Winston Salem English School (June 2018-July 2019):
-Winston Salem is an English academy for adults and teens in Colombia. Prior to this employment I was only experienced with young children, so I had to adapt and learn how to teach adults. It was a fulfulling and eye opening experience to the field of teaching for me.
-Their teaching methods are based around AUDIO LINGUISM. Most lessons I gave the students were listening exercises to enhance vocabulary and listening skills, or give them grammatical and pronunciation advice.
-There were also opportunities to do conversational classes that I organised myself.
-I could experiment with different teaching styles, games, as well as have an organised schedule that I was dedicated to.
English Language Tutoring/ Classroom lessons (2015-Feb 2018):
-In England while I was studying in University I was actively tutoring English language to children ages 9-11 and adults at different academic levels and skills.
-This is either on a 1-1 level (tutoring) or in a classroom environment.
-In Korea I taught in a religious summer school. (One month of 2016, and 2017)
Skills I've learnt: Planning lessons, controlling a classroom, making educational activities fun, doing crafts and enjoying company of children and adults in a learning environment.
