My methodology is based on a more practical, debatable lesson rather than just looking at slides quietly. To question and challenge is the very core of studying arts and culture, especially when relating this to business, sociology, psychology and politics. Another and even more practical lesson is to go on face-face lessons to cultural sites and creative organisations to deconstruct, contextualise and theorise works which is better for those kinesthetic learners (which I found best for myself too!). It also makes learning more fun and creative.
Years of experience within heritage sites, galleries, theatres, freelance graphic designer, health services. Completed a BA Hons Graphic Design from University for the Creative Arts, London and currently studying MA Culture, Creativity and Entrepreneurship at University of Leeds. I can teach theory and history of art, culture, entrepreneurship within the cultural and creative industries. I have experience of tutoring East Asian students at university level, and teaching vulnerable adults (suffering with mental health and addiction, some being ex-prisoners).
I would like to know what level of education you are already, and if you are prepared to study 'out and about' at cultural and creative destinations. If you choose to study with this method, you have to pay for yourself if the destination requires an entrance fee (although, 99% of them wouldn't!) And you must pay for your own travel there.
