My philosophy is succeeding by effectively planning and preparing lessons through differentiation and extending the knowledge-base, adapting to meeting the individual needs of students so that it can maximise learning so that every child has opportunities to reach their potential, consolidating learning through homework and assessments and managing time effectively during holidays as well as supporting students through external exams. I believe that setting regularly homework, marking it yourself, providing feedback and checking that students have acted on the feedback are the fundamentals of successful teaching and learning. Being supported by every level of the school structure from the department to the senior leadership team is paramount and without this there can be so many challenges to overcome. And lastly, having highly accurate data and being truly open, honest, reliable and transparent aids in understanding and measurable improvements which many schools aspire to reaching but only some reaching the successful outcomes as often policies, procedures and practices are not implemented in line with equal opportunities inadvertently competing with self-interest. In essence, trust, teamwork and transparency must permeate every level of the organisation so that it moves forward from year to year.
