I taught Chinese to international school students in Hong Kong alongside my bachelor's degree. Then I've decided making teaching Chinese as a second language my career as I have had relevant experience and I really enjoy it. Then I moved to London in 2015 and started working with different schools and people. As an education graduate, I am quite knowledgeable about teaching pedagogy and I know how to create an effective classroom. My students are aged from 5 to 40, including preschoolers, GCSE/AS/AL/HSK students, adult learners (bankers, PhD students) who target on business and academic language usage.
When I first meet my students, I love doing an entry test with them to see what level they have achieved. For complete beginners, don't worry, I have been designing a lot of different materials in order to make a start for them. I love creating tailor-made teaching materials as I believe everyone has their own way to succeed.
Hi all active Chinese learners!
I am a Chinese teacher who holds a Chinese Education bachelor's degree from the University of Hong Kong, with more than 10 years of tutoring experience, in both Hong Kong and London. I am now currently doing a MA in Language and Cultural Diversity at King's College London, aiming to acquire more knowledge in facilitating my Chinese teaching through examining the relationship between language and culture.
I am perfectly fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese because I was raised in Hong Kong but also studied in Beijing. I can also read both traditional and simplified Chinese so it will make your Chinese learning more fruitful and all-rounded.
