I have had 7 years of experience as a tutor for children ages 5-15, and have followed pupils from beginner level up to grade 5. I would be most comfortable teaching children at this stage, as it is what I'm used to. I teach using the ABRSM method, and value music-reading skills, so will weave music theory into lessons. As a teacher I am calm and patient, stubborn when it comes to regular practise!
I am currently working at the Imperial College Centre for Health Policy as an administrator. I have BSc in Nutrition, and consider healthy living and music my two main passions in life. I achieved grade 8 piano and organ with distinction at age 14, then completed equivalent of A level Music in New Zealand (where I lived for the last decade).
I will usually teach beginners for 30-45 minutes per week as opposed to an hour.
Cost of travel will depend on the distance travelled. I would prefer to teach within 3km of Maida Vale station.
