Third- year Zoology undergraduate at the University of Bristol with three years of tutoring experience. I teach GCSE and A-Level Biology for all exam boards.

Methodology

Before we begin sessions, I will ask you whether you are someone who likes a lot of notes, or whether you prefer more visual information. I have taught many students with different learning preferences, and I am very versatile in my teaching methods. I will also establish what the student needs help in. This may include specific topics that they aren't feeling confident about, how to effectively revise, exam technique, or as I often find, a combination of everything.

I teach at a very steady pace, ensuring that the student is always understanding everything I am saying and writing. I say things as I write, underlining key words and phrases, which are all available for revision. Many students feel over-whelmed by the amount of information they need to learn for Biology therefore, I use 'key words' from the course specification and previous marking schemes to teach the students exactly what they need to know. For the more curious students, I can widen their knowledge of Biology as a whole, making links with current issues and ideas in the scientific community.

Whether you are looking at studying Biology or other science-related fields in the future, or just need help passing your exams, I am the tutor for you! Whatever grade you are looking for, we can get you to that level with hard work and fun lessons. Don't hesitate to get in contact.

Experience

Hi there, thank you so much for looking at my profile. I am a third-year Zoology student at the University of Bristol. The study of Biology and animals has been a life-long passion for me, and I bring my enthusiasm for the subject to every tutorial. My love for Biology started when I was five years-old walking home from school with my dad who used to tell me all about the different birds and their songs. I became fascinated with everything science and nature-based, and I knew from a very early age that studying animals was going to be part of my future. My focus is now on post-graduate education, including research and conservation. I hope to lecture and research at the university as a professor in the future. I achieved consistently high grades in sciences at both GCSE and A-Levels however, this was not without difficulty. I spent many months being tutored rigorously in exam technique, subject content, and revision strategies. This has provided me with an excellent knowledge of how to really do well in exams. I often find that many students are frustrated at the tight marking-schemes and 'key words' needed to get the high marks in Biology. However, this is easily over-come once you have studied many past papers and associated mark schemes. I have been tutoring for over three years now, and I have been able to get all of my students up to their required grades and understanding. References available on request.
