About Nathalie
I am knowledgeable about English pronunciation and phonetics and my clients always tell me that I am very positive, enthusiastic and encouraging. Having grown up abroad and speaking different languages, I have developed a good ear for phonetics, which was a key part of my training as a speech and language therapist. In this line of work I have worked with children and adults with speech difficulties (lisps, inability to pronounce the /r/ sound) as well as voice disorders. I have a Trinity Cert TESOL qualification and have taught English as a second language in Russia and in England, to children and business people. My experience as ESOL teacher and speech and language therapist mean that I am ideally placed to hear, understand and explain to clients how to modify their pronunciation and speech, as well as their delivery to make their speech as clear and impactful as possible. Clients find me extremely enthusiastic, positive and encouraging - sessions are never boring!

I am a qualified speech and language therapist who provides coaching in public speaking and accent reduction sessions to professionals seeking to improve their confidence and communication effectiveness. This is ideal for people with a good level of English who are keen to increase their confidence and ability to connect with their audience whilst using speech that is more native-sounding and fluent. In accent modification sessions we work on individual sounds as well as connected speech processes, prosody (the rhythm of English) and intonation, leaving clients with a much better understanding and ability to hear and reproduce the sounds of English. For clients who are keen to improve their presentation and public speaking skills, we work on different aspects of speech delivery including the use of energy, intonation variation, pace, facial expression and gestures. We then use all these elements to bring your speech to life, helping you to master your communication skills and use them to connect better with your audience and create a greater impact. I have training in phonetics as well as speech/ language/ voice disorders, and my linguistic skills (I am trilingual - English, French and Russian, with some knowledge of Spanish and six months’ experience of learning Mandarin!) have provided me with an acute awareness of what aspects to listen out for and improve in people's speech. Lessons are 1 hour and are usually carried out online, although face-to-face can also be arranged.
