When required I will provide free support to students outside of sessions using e-mail and Zoom.
My aim is to get students to where they should be and help them reach their full potential.
I do this through one-to-one online sessions, after a free 30 minute online consultation. I use a wide range of the latest resources including screen sharing, online puzzles and games and instructional videos. I use interactive resources and a writing tablet with an online white board.
I have extensive knowledge of Mathematics education and have researched the latest global Maths instruction methodologies during my MSc in Mathematics in Education. This means that I am prepared to incorporate instuction such as Bar Modelling as used in the Singapore Mathematics instruction.
I will need to know if there are specific areas of Maths that I can help with and I will provide a detailed and regular report to parents/ carers. I will plan specific, targeted intervention that will aim to allow rapid progress and build confidence. Because of my extensive knowledge of the school curriculum I am able to provide accurate, knowledge-based assessment and monitor the progress of your child. Please feel free to contact me to see if I have any vacancies for your child. At the moment I am unable to take on any more A Level students but have space for a limited number of KS2, KS3 and GCSE students.
With over 30 years of teaching experience working in several departments as Key Stage Coordinator and Head of Department I am now accepting a small number of students who may require extra help due to lockdown or may feel that they are falling behind in progress, or suffering from poor motivation and low self esteem. I have studied mathematics education at Masters Level and have undertaken extensive research and writing on international teaching methods such as Singapore Maths and bar modelling methodologies.
Perfect! Really welcoming and helpful tutor
Really friendly and enthusiastic student who is keen to learn.
Peter is my Stepdad. I met him as a young teenager, and my experience of Peter is that he is extremely patient, kind, supportive and understanding. I know his former students think highly of him; he is fun and engaging to be around. He has a wonderful ability to connect with and motivate even the most disruptive of students. Whoever gets to work with him will surely appreciate the many qualities he brings to the table. Highly recommend!
Peter has a very kind, patient and hard-working nature and therefore makes an excellent maths teacher. You definitely won’t regret choosing him as your tutor!
Peter is a senior teacher with huge amounts of experience. Peter has a wonderful way with students and can help them achieve to a high standard.
My nieces hated maths and were really struggling in school.
I recommended Mr Wellington to their parents because we had studied together at university. I knew him personally and trusted his academic ability.
Peter is a qualified Maths teacher with extensive school experience. He makes maths interesting and informative by using real world examples.
Thanks to Peter my nieces have just finished their degrees and have developed secure and well paid careers in UK industry.
I recommend Peter to you without reservation.
Alan (University Lecturer)
Peter and I have worked in the same school and known each other for 11 years. He has years of experience working with students from all backgrounds in busy UK schools; I’ve seen him develop support plans to help students with their progress, and seen the high esteem they have for him. He always makes them laugh and manages to win them over so that they can enjoy Maths.
