About Salwa
I believe that teaching is not just a job, it is a calling. You really must have love for what you are doing, because it requires patience and dedication. You are not only imparting knowledge but also giving students opportunities to be curious about the world and to think. My favorite quote about education is what Einstein said: "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think." You must truly care about you students and be patient with them and take time to get to know them. Only then can you truly be able to teach them, no matter the subject being taught.

My teaching career spans over 25 years. During this time I have gained so much valuable experience with students of all ages, as well as adults. Everyone is different and learns at varying levels and approaches. My style is to first to get to know my students and what works and what does not work for each one. One of my strengthens is differentiating my lessons in order to meet students' individual needs, interests , and strengthens. My lessons are not generic even though I might have several different levels of English proficiency in one space. A typical lesson plan in my class would have different activities and strategies so that all the students would have the opportunity to learn and grow. I am also very patient, and really want to help my students succeed. When a student gets frustrated, I remind them that making mistakes and being challenged is an opportunity for growth, and that is what makes us successful in the future.
