About Nikita

I am a former experienced amateur boxer from Lithuania with 6 years of experience. I had over 30 boxing fights up to national and international levels. I am currently working at UBX Boxing+Fitness gym and holding EB level 1 coach certification. My hobbies in the gym are skipping rope jumping and speedbagging! I would like to share my passion for this sport with you!

Warm-Up (10–15 min)
Skipping, mobility drills, and fun games to raise your heart rate and prep your body for movement.

  • 1) What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

    I began my sports journey at the age of six with gymnastics, a discipline that greatly enhanced my strength, flexibility, and endurance. At ten, I added swimming to my routine, which further developed my athletic abilities. My father always encouraged me to try boxing, but I initially resisted due to fear and lack of interest. However, by the time I turned 14, I felt a growing need to build confidence and learn to defend myself. This led me to reconsider boxing, which my father suggested as a foundation for strong fundamentals and techniques. I joined a boxing club with experienced coaches who provided invaluable guidance, shaping my skills throughout my boxing career.
  • 2) What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

    I am a passionate sports enthusiast with experience in various disciplines, including gymnastics, swimming, Vietnamese martial arts, boxing, volleyball, and tennis. I achieved regional-level success in gymnastics and have competed in regional, national, and international boxing tournaments and championships. In volleyball, I played in school competitions, national championships, and captained my university's volleyball club in London. Additionally, I have represented my school and swimming club in national and international swimming competitions.
  • 3) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

    My motivation stems from seeing beginners struggle to start a new sport. Many face challenges due to inadequate guidance or individual learning, leading to improper technique, potential injuries, and early withdrawal from the sport. I aim to prevent this by giving my students full attention and guiding them through the entire learning process. By teaching the correct techniques and providing consistent support, I help my students build confidence and progress more quickly in their chosen sport.
  • 4) Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

    I am particularly proud of participating in major boxing tournaments that included competitors from 20 countries worldwide. This experience was a significant milestone in my boxing career.
  • 5) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

    Every challenge I face and every achievement I earn contributes to my growth as a sportsperson. The adage "no pain, no gain" holds true, as overcoming obstacles makes me stronger and more confident in the sport I teach. My experiences provide valuable lessons that I can share with my students, helping them navigate their own journeys.
  • 6) If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

    As a boxer, I would choose to jog with Ukrainian Champion Oleksandr Usyk. I have followed his career since I began boxing, and our club even has a pair of gloves signed by him. Interestingly, Usyk and I both completed a Psychology course, which adds another layer of connection. I would love to have a friendly conversation with him about his goal-setting strategies and the mental and physical strength required to succeed at the highest levels.
  • 7) How do you help people stay motivated?

    I help my students stay motivated by highlighting areas for improvement, setting achievable goals, and, most importantly, instilling discipline that supports long-term progress. This structured approach keeps them engaged and focused on their development.

    My extensive experience in boxing, coupled with my passion for coaching, sets me apart as a Superprof. I possess a deep understanding of technique, particularly in footwork, which is often underestimated but crucial in boxing. I am committed to continuous self-improvement and sharing my knowledge with students who aspire to excel in their sport.
