About Bennett
I'm currently a graduate student, but I have taught multiple classes over the last three years on a variety of topics. In my undergraduate degree I focused on human development and environmental science, which helps me understand how to approach each individual student's needs and effectively communicate what they need to hear in a manner that best suits them. My past students have grown in a better understanding of the topics they study, but they have also walked away understanding how they think about these topics. This provides them with the confidence to approach problem solving in their own unique way.

My approach as a tutor is to help the student understand how they approach difficult topics. I believe that approaching problem solving is of utmost importance, because if a student increases their confidence in their ability to think about these topics then the sky is the limit.
With that, I prefer to work with middle school to high school aged students because these years are crucial in their understanding of educational achievement. As I teach, I integrate an emphasis on study habits and critical thinking because getting these right will lead to long-term success. You can teach a formula or a rule, but you can also teach the *approach* to the formula or rule that ultimately goes further in educational application.

Details
I keep my rates set at $15/hr across the board unless I have to travel 30 minutes or more. Travel outside of 30 minutes is $15 due simply to roundtrip costs. Cost should not prevent a student from academic success! I'm flexible as needed.
