About Cara
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a specialisation in guitar studies and bring nine years of teaching experience across diverse age groups and skill levels. My approach combines structure with creativity, allowing students to develop confidence while enjoying the process of learning guitar. Outside of teaching, I remain actively engaged in performing, composing, and studying new techniques. I draw inspiration from both classical and contemporary guitarists, ensuring my lessons include fresh perspectives, practical insights, and up-to-date methods that keep students motivated and connected to modern music. What drives me most as a teacher is seeing students grow through music. I understand that every learner’s journey is unique, so I adapt my teaching style to individual needs. By celebrating progress and nurturing creativity, I help students build not only skill but also lifelong confidence and love for guitar.

My lessons begin with the fundamentals of guitar playing, focusing on proper posture, hand positioning, and chord shapes. Students start with essential exercises that build dexterity, rhythm, and timing, ensuring a strong technical foundation before progressing to more advanced skills and musical concepts. I emphasise applying skills through songs and styles that reflect each student’s interest, from classical to rock, blues, or acoustic playing. By blending technique with creativity, learners develop not only the ability to play fluently but also the confidence to express themselves musically and explore different genres. Each lesson is designed to adapt to individual goals, whether preparing for graded exams, improving improvisation, or learning for personal enjoyment. With constructive feedback, step-by-step guidance, and consistent encouragement, students make meaningful progress while building both technical mastery and musical passion.
