About Peter
I have ridden skateboards for over 35 years. Skated internationally and ran skate companies and skate teams for more than two decades. I love the wood & wheels and enjoy passing on my passion for skating with others.
I believe skateboarding culture is one of the best and most influential spaces for young people to engage. As a sport, it is challenging and ever-evolving. As a cultural activity, its tentacles are extensive and ever spreading. Skateboard culture is a varied and creative space that builds character and allows all people to shine. It starts with rolling down hills and speeds up to a lifelong passion full of friends and endless challenges. Long Live The Wheel!

Skate School and Teaching.
Group skateboarding lessons
If you are interested in learning how to skateboard, The Skate Society ( My skate store) runs a group skateboarding lesson at the Malling Skate Park Lewes every Saturday at 8.30 am (weather permitting). We take skaters from age 7 to 70 and teach them the techniques they need to enjoy the process of learning to skateboard confidently.
The Techniques we focus on are:
1: Pushing
2: Foot Position
3: Body Position
4: Turning and Carving
5: Kick Turns
6: Pumping
7: Ollies
8: Stopping
9: Falling
These nine techniques are at the heart of skating and will enable the rider to increase their confidence, explore skate terrain and have a solid foundation from which to build.
The lessons encourage skaters of varying experience levels to skate together, teach each other, and learn with guidance from the tutor. We are fans of “the session” and push skaters to ride and shralp together. Learning to skate with others is a crucial aspect of enjoying the skatepark and feeling confident.
Lessons are 1 hour and cost £20 per rider.
Equipment.
We have some boards and pads available for hire, but we prefer riders to have their own equipment. We feel that practice is the key, and having your own skateboard and pads will enable riders to practice in their own time. We can teach you the techniques, but you will teach yourself how to skate!

Private Skateboard Lessons (One on One)
One-on-one teaching sessions are a great way to advance your skills and hone your technique. At The Skate Society, we take great pride in helping perhaps more nervous riders to find their confidence, master skills, and have that extra attention that can make all the difference. Working with a skilled tutor builds confidence and provides the encouragement and focus required to advance faster.
Lessons are 1 hour and cost £100 per hour.

Advanced Skater Coaching (One on One)
If you are a more advanced skater and would like some advice on how to push things on I am happy to help you build your skill set.
I have worked with some of the UK's best Pro's and can help you to examine your approach and build ways to improve your style, skill set, stamina.
Lessons are 1 hour and cost £100 per hour.
