About Marie
I have been a teacher of English since 2017 and have provided private tuition for native and non-native speakers of English. I have secured good outcomes for my students, with a minimum of a Grade 4 (GCSE). I use my subject knowledge and experience as an examiner to develop my students' own knowledge and understanding of all aspects of English to ensure progress is made.

Lessons are bespoke to each student, focusing on your individual needs, and are delivered in-person. Usual length is one hour per week, but this can vary dependent upon each individual's requirements. For English Language and Literature GCSE, I focus on: structure of response; exam techniques; comprehension; inference; summary; quotes; context. For A Level and beyond, I will proof-read essays or coursework, providing guidance and questions to develop deeper analysis, comparison and critical thinking. I can also focus on technical aspects of writing, such as spelling, punctuation and grammatical structures, as well as formatting and referencing.
