About Joe
I’m Joe! I’ve always enjoyed maths throughout my time in school, getting to the end of a 6-marker and it all being tied up neatly and you KNOW you have the right answer is a great feeling. And I’d like people to have this same feeling IN their exams. Exams are stressful, I have just sat through A LOT. In my first maths exam, I had a bit of a hard time, my brain just wasn’t functioning as it normally did, and I got through the exam and there were 4 questions which just would not compute. But I settled down, put pen to paper and ended up getting 79/80 on that paper. It was a horrible feeling I don’t want anyone else to go through, so I just want to teach to have my students go into exams with confidence and come out feeling even more confident.

I’m simply a 16-year-old boy looking to help people my age, and help people achieve the best grades that they possibly can. I’m extremely familiar with the curriculum for GCSE Maths, but I also got some experience tutoring throughout year 11 and I am capable of communicating mathematical ideas, both simple and complex. I helped friends and family throughout year 11, going through papers and doing group revision sessions, so I can assure you that I am able to teach. I don’t want to just help with the content, I also want to help to tackle the exam season as I know more than anyone else what to do, having just sat through it and achieving top grades across all subjects. And most of all I want to get my students enjoying maths and not dreading tutoring, and connect with them on a personal level, making a comfortable tutoring environment.

Amazing tutor! Friendly, supportive and great at helping me to achieve the grades i needed in my gcses.
Throughout my GCSE period Maths was not my strongest subject and during school Joe would help me revise by going through past papers with me and working through each question at my own pace to make sure i understood what to do next time i attempted one similar. He would go through papers with me and i would attempt them on my own with what he had previously gone through with me to see what i could remember and this really improved my maths knowledge and helped me go up in grades when my real exams came.
Joe is a very patient tutor who cares a lot about his students needs and works hard to make sure those needs are met. I have always struggled with Maths and thanks to Joe’s help i have managed to get my maths grade up to a 5 from a 3.
