About Christine

I started teaching kids (ages 4-12 yrs) when I was a university freshman (16 years old). I taught basic music theory, how to play 'piano/keyboards', and basic English on a part-time basis while I was a musicology major. I did it two times a week from 2005 to 2009. But during my university years (especially in 2009-2010) I was chosen as a recipient/grantee of a full-scholarship study abroad program funded by the United States Department of Education administered by the Fulbright Commission. After successful completion of the said scholarship stint, I went back to my home country (Philippines) and finished a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communication. I continued doing part-time teaching while also enrolling to the Master's Degree program in International Studies. Having a degree in Communications, I can confirm that I am a tech-savvy individual and proficient in traditional and digital tools. Also, being a pioneer member of the Young SouthEast Asian Leaders Program/LEAD group (Lead.Engage.Activate.Develop) also enhanced my communication skills as I am a project implementer and trainer. My colleagues described me as a passionate and professional team player and an individual who possesses competence and superb skills not only in media but also in educating young minds. My work experiences not only made me comfortable in interacting with various levels of organization but those also made me delight in working closely with students, clients, and various type of audiences.
To further myself I applied to some UK universities and got unconditional offers for Master's degree programs in Public Relations, Communication Critical Practice (University of the Arts London College of Communication) and Digital Media (London Metropolitan University).
Now that I live with my husband in London, I would love to continue what I started by doing exemplary work and applying my pedagogical knowledge and skills in practice -and teaching various kinds of students/individual is one of them.
As you will note on the enclosed CV/profile, my experiences and special participations covered a wide area of responsibilities with an in-depth focus on media/comms and education field for it truly serves as my passion and area of desired profession.
I am confident my transferable skills and multitude of versatile abilities make me a solid candidate for any teaching level/role (like assistantships) as I always put my heart and remain dedicated to whatever I do.

In my previous teaching experiences, I used the flipped classroom/ non-traditional one-on-one tutorial session - meaning I try to go out of the box and conduct reviews sometimes out of the classroom building. I also used gamification techniques, online learning materials, and social media/interactive type of method.
