About Siena
I have 7 years of experience tutoring Python to students of all levels—from school and college learners to working professionals. My passion is helping students understand programming in a way that is simple, practical, and enjoyable. I believe that learning Python is not just about writing code but about developing problem-solving skills and logical thinking that can be used in many areas of life and work. My teaching philosophy centres on patience, clarity, and encouragement. I tailor each lesson to the needs and goals of my students, whether they want to build their first programme, improve their coding for school projects, or apply Python skills in their careers. I focus on real-life examples and hands-on exercises so students can see how programming works in practice. Throughout my tutoring journey, I have helped over 150 students gain confidence in coding, prepare for exams, and complete professional projects. One of my proudest achievements is guiding students from no coding background to successfully launching their own small automation tools or web apps. I emphasise conceptual understanding before code writing. We start by breaking down complex topics into simple ideas using real-world analogies, then apply them through hands-on coding exercises. I encourage students to think like problem-solvers—not just learning how to code, but why things work the way they do. This approach builds long-term confidence and adaptability in programming. Integrity is central to my tutoring style. I offer honest feedback, set realistic expectations, and create a supportive space where questions are always welcome. I promote independent thinking while being fully present to guide each step of the way. In addition to Python, I can also teach topics like computational thinking, software basics, and beginner data analysis. No matter the subject, I aim to help students not just pass exams or finish projects, but truly understand what they’re learning and how to apply it meaningfully. With a student-centred and results-driven approach, my goal is to empower learners with the tools to solve problems creatively, build projects with confidence, and enjoy the journey of learning to code.
