I need some arguments for and against how the theory of evolution relates to nutrition. If you could help me think of some points that would be great, thanks! 🙂

We have evolved into eating a variety of foods, especially due to migration. People will now eat food from different countries or areas. This is good as it provides energy from a wide source. A negative would be that variety of food can also lead to allergies or disease like obesity, diabetes or nut allergies

Hi Nadiyah, an emerging field now days is the Nutrition genomics; of which a small part explores the interaction between certain nutrients we consume in our diet and their interaction with genes (overlapping with the Epigenetic field). Thus you can say certain type of Nutrients (e.g. Glucose+Galactose in milk) lead to expression of different genes in different ways which then determines the physiological effect of these genes and thus direct our evolution: as certain group of genes may turn out to be more beneficial, thus survival of the fittest comes into play.
