How did Gandhi help India?

Answers
Gandhi was an Indian at a time when India was governed by the British. He was educated as a lawyer, a smart man with a good education. But then he took a trip to England and realized that, for all of his education the English treated him not like an equal but as if he were less than they were. This showed him that India being under England's rule wasn't great for India. If they weren't treated as equals, that wasn't fair. So he decided to push for independence but to do so peacfully.
