ok so the first thing we have to do is to find the total that she paid

7x9.95 = 69.65

then we add on 13.07 to get 82.72

now we know that she left the store with 7.28 so all we have to do is add that onto the total that she paid to know how much she started with = 82.72 + 7.28=£90

Jenny bought 7 t-shirts, one for each of her seven brothers, for $9.95 each. The cashier charged an additional 13% tax. She left the store with a measly $11.30. How much money did Jenny start with? You must show your thinking. 7x9.95= 69.65x0.13 =9.056 She paid 69.65 then we add 13 on so 82.65 So now we add how much she left with and what she had 31.656.
