Stress strain graph

A sample of steel was tested under large loads and the following stress strain graph was plotted Calculate the young modulus of the steel

Young's Modulus can be found by E=Tensile stress/Tensile Strain

Select any two points on graphDraw lines from those points onto x-axis and y-axisFind difference between stress on y-axis points. Then find the difference between strain on x-axis points. Now apply formula: E= (Change in stress)/(change in strain)

Use the initial straight line part of the graph and find its gradient so that stress/strain is calculated.

As we know stress divided by strain is Young's modulus. Stress on y axis,strain on X axis
