acid turns blue litmus red and with red litmus it just stays the same colour

you could use litmus paper

it reacts with an alkali

Here are some additional properties of acids:

Reacts with bases to form salt and water Reacts with metals to form hydrogen gas Reacts with carbonates to form carbon dioxide, water and a salt Sour taste e.g. lemon and vinegar Contains hydrogen ions (H+) when dissolved in water Has a pH less than 7 Can burn your skin (corrosive)
