Methodology

I am a friendly and motivated individual, offering lessons to likeminded students who genuinely want to improve, but maybe need that extra push to get there.

Lessons will be tailored to each student and taught in a relaxed yet informative manner; students will feel comfortable asking any questions they might have, and topic-discussion is welcomed. A typical History lesson, for example, might include at first a focus on content - key/significant events, dates, individuals - before then looking at how this would fit into the wider themes of the course, and lastly how it would fit into exam questions. For A-Level students, a lesson might also focus partly on historiography (where relevant), offering valuable insights into scholarly debates within the historical period being studied which can help students develop their arguments when it comes to exam questions.

After achieving 8 A*s and 2 As at GCSE, along with A*AA at A-Level, I believe that practice exam questions are perhaps one of the most valuable methods used when teaching. Not only are students better prepared for the exam, but throughout the course of preparation their answers/arguments become stronger, concise, and more developed.

I can also offer lessons focus-led by planning and writing essays.
