Why change a winning formula? Since comedienne/actress Nikki Glaser did such a smashing job of hosting last year's event, the show's producers invited her back this year.
Like the host of every show across Awards Season's major ceremonies, Nikki began the evening with a monologue. That nearly 11-minute introduction set the tone for the night ahead. One of camaraderie, familiarity and respect, all without taking itself or the attendees too seriously. All that and a stunning red dress, too!π
Nikki kept the show moving at a brisk pace, as mandated by the producers' time constraints. Still, she left room for laughs, peppering her performance with saucy zingers aimed at select audience members2. She also wove her awareness of current events throughout, quipping about everything from the current Epstein drops to the new generation of media decision-makers.
She is the ceremony's first-ever solo female host.
She's also one of only a handful of women to host an award show solo.

If you're like us, you'll find lots of weirdness with the winners and runners-up in this category. Not that they're weird, of courseπ€ͺ. Only the results are weird.
To be fair, The White Lotus has enjoyed a five-year run so far, and has already won a couple of Golden Globes over its run. It's still a great show and still delivers a lot of enjoyment, as evidenced by its many nominations.
However, Adolescence is visceral, raw, and, most importantly, timely. It takes on some of today's most challenging social phenomena - the manosphere, school bullying, child killers, etc. - and makes these topics' exploration exquisitely watchable.

Much of the credit goes to young Owen Cooper, who'd never acted professionally before this breakout role4. Thanks to his blowing our collective minds π€― with his performance, he became the youngest person ever to collect a Golden Globe award.
