In Manchester, we're known for excellence in sports. Our football clubs get most of the press, but we have rugby, rowing, cricket and cycling, too. Our sport-loving population fills the city's gyms and outdoor spaces. In short, Manchester has fitness initiatives for all.
Many of this city's gyms and studios cater to specific populations. For instance, boxers have their clubs and martial artists have their dojos. And then, we find a separate class of facility, those that cater exclusively to women. Leaving Liverpool, after reviewing women-only fitness outlets there, these Manchester gyms stood out.

Barrecore
Barre exercises are a staple for ballet dancers worldwide. As a former dancer, I can assure you that classic barre exercises are quite strenuous. But then, the fitness community enhanced and modified the standard moves. Today's barre for fitness far outdoes ballerinas' routines, both in intensity and variety.
Barrecore launched in 2011, as one of the premiere women's workout centres London. The initiative proved successful, so the brand expanded into other cities, Greater Manchester included. You may join Barrecore fitness trainers for your barre workout in their studio, or limit yourself to online sessions.

JD Gyms Warrington
Midway between Liverpool and Manchester lies Warrington, a former industrial town on the Mersey's banks. We came to it after touring Liverpool's women's only gyms, on our way to visit Manchester's. We were lucky to spot this training facility, with its females-only section, a mere 26 kilometres from Greater Manchester.
Franchise gyms have a bit of catching up to do, compared to targeted women-only enterprises.

Still, as cheap gyms in Manchester go, JD fits the bill. Its group class studio, workout areas and amenities give it the feel of an expensive fitness centre. Also, it offers a list of fitness initiatives for all fitness enthusiasts to join.

Ladies Only LTD

What we discovered at this women's gym outshone anything our review of ladies-only studios in Leeds had to offer. Ladies Only fitness trainers are twice as amazing, not just for being professionally certified, but because they are doctor recommended.
If you suffer from a serious health condition, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), your personal trainer will design a fitness regimen tailored to your condition. Likewise, if you are battling or recovering from cancer, or dealing with chronic back pain.
These and other conditions will impact your workouts' effectiveness. So, having someone knowledgeable of those conditions to guide you to your fitness goals will deliver the best outcomes.

PureGym Oldham
As we toured the city, we found Manchester rather lean on women-only offerings. Still, one of the best gyms in Manchester has stepped up its game. One PureGym facility now boasts a women's section. That's two short of this franchise gym's three women-only facilities in Birmingham.
Like this franchise's other facilities, the Oldham outlet, and the women's gym, are superb. They're well stocked with all the kit you need to shape, sculpt, and transform your physique.

You'll also find lots of courses to choose from, but all take place in the hall's coed area (some are ladies-only). As a member, here's what you have to work with.

Personal Fitness Training Manchester
Despite having so many women-only gyms - and private gyms Manchester, some women still do not feel comfortable working out in a gym. Others would like targeted guidance, or have health concerns a training professional should address. For all of these fitness enthusiasts, a personal fitness trainer presents the ideal solution.
You might work out at home with a personal trainer to guide your efforts via webcam. Or, you could search for personal trainers who make house calls. Another option is working out with a private fitness professional in a public facility, or outdoors.
Superprof fitness trainers are perfect for all these conditions. The Superprof platform lists 333 private trainers in Manchester alone, and more than 6 000 across the UK. You may set filters to choose your Superprof private fitness tutor based on your budget, schedule, and workout preferences.

Girl Time Manchester
We cannot move on to discuss the best women's fitness centres in Glasgow without first talking about this fitness initiative. Meg Energy PT hosts a monthly women-only event that blends invigorating physical activity with a sense of community. Other initiatives, such as Gals of Manchester, do the same thing.
Groups like this aren't fitness facilities or franchise brands. It's an idea unique to Manchester. These sessions may last two and a half hours or more. You might go once, just to see what they're about, and then decide to participate every month.
