About Janet
What if voice lessons weren’t just about singing better—but about feeling better in your voice, your body, and your sense of self? That’s the experience I’ve worked to create over my 9 years as a vocal coach. My lessons are about growth—not just in volume or range, but in confidence, communication, and emotional fluency. I work with school-aged and college-aged singers of all experience levels to develop voices that are both technically solid and emotionally expressive.
Our work is grounded in healthy, sustainable vocal technique: breath awareness, tone balance, range expansion, and agility. But we also explore phrasing, lyrical connection, character work, and style variation. Students learn how to embody a song fully—not just vocally, but emotionally and physically. I love working across genres, and lessons often feature pop, musical theater, folk, acoustic, or jazz-infused selections tailored to the student’s interests.
I incorporate tools like pitch-tracking, practice recordings, vocal journaling, and genre challenges to keep learning dynamic and measurable. For students preparing for auditions or concerts, we tackle performance anxiety, audition strategies, and stamina training. And vocal health is always a part of the conversation—lessons include vocal self-care education to help students sing comfortably and safely for life. More than anything, I aim to build trust: in your voice, in your creative instincts, and in your right to be heard. My teaching space is open, inclusive, and judgment-free. Whether you’re singing in your bedroom or on a big stage, your voice matters. Let’s train it, protect it, and let it soar.

The craft of singing unites the science of vocal production, the art of emotional communication, and the richness of cultural diversity to create impactful musical storytelling. My teaching philosophy is built on Alignment, Creativity, Diversity, and Continuous Development. Alignment focuses on the seamless integration of breath control, vocal placement, and posture to facilitate healthy, efficient singing and allow the voice to resonate with clarity and freedom.
I help students develop this foundational connection through mindful exercises that promote body awareness and breath management. Creativity is fostered through opportunities to explore phrasing, dynamics, and emotional expression via improvisation, lyric analysis, and character exploration, nurturing artistic originality and emotional authenticity. Diversity guides my approach to repertoire selection, incorporating a broad spectrum of musical genres and cultural traditions that enrich students’ musical vocabulary and deepen their appreciation for global music cultures.
Continuous Development is encouraged through personalized goal-setting, adaptive practice strategies, and reflective
feedback that drive consistent progress and self-awareness. I cultivate an encouraging and inspiring learning environment where technical proficiency, artistic expression, and cultural understanding come together to empower singers on their unique musical journeys.
