About Jean
As a student myself, I've had the privilege of graduating with distinction from the UK program of Trinity College of Music, where I gained a solid foundation in music theory. I've also studied contemporary jazz with Alejandro Varela. To further broaden my musical horizons, I've taken lessons with renowned musicians such as Donny McCaslin, Steven Feifke, and Dariusz Terefenko, who taught the blues program at New York University. Through these experiences and performances across various genres, I've gained a deeper understanding of music in all its forms. As a teacher, my approach revolves around the student. I tailor my lessons to each individual's learning style, interests, and goals, ensuring they receive a solid foundation in music theory and understanding.

Music is something I'm passionate about, and I love sharing that passion with others. If you have a genuine interest in learning how music works, how to play the piano, and how to compose your own music, I'm here to guide you.
As a versatile musician, I've had the opportunity to explore various genres, from playing in theater productions to organizing concerts for my own music. I've also performed in a range of different styles, played reggae, pop, metal,, blues, jazz standards, and rock (classic, heavy, indie, oldies).
As a teacher, I've worked in private middle schools and high schools, as well as providing one-on-one lessons online and in-person. My approach is centered around kindness, patience, and understanding. I tailor my teaching to each student's unique needs and learning style, ensuring that complex concepts are conveyed in a clear and fun accessible way. We will follow a step by step program directed towards the progression on the instrument and theory as well as harmonic concepts.
