About Alina
I am a violin tutor with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance (Baroque Violin) and over 7 years of experience teaching. I love working with children at the very beginning of their musical journey. My lessons are filled with play, movement, and discovery. I focus on developing ear training and aural skills from an early age. Music is best learned when it feels natural, so I use storytelling, rhythm games, and singing. Children enjoy moving to rhythms and clapping patterns before playing. Simple melodies make technique accessible and fun. I draw on Suzuki and Kodály-inspired ideas to shape each lesson. These methods emphasize listening and repetition, which build strong musical habits. I create a space where mistakes are part of learning. Each child’s imagination is welcomed into the lesson. I encourage confidence, creativity, and joy in every step of progress. Above all, I want children to feel that music is both playful and powerful. Together, we make violin a joyful adventure.

My approach to teaching violin is structured and skill-based. I focus on sight-reading as a core ability. Lessons train students to understand ledger lines and complex rhythmic figures. I also include practice in reading multi-part scores. Exercises strengthen the connection between what the eyes see and what the fingers do. Each lesson builds fluency in small, manageable steps. I encourage Musical Theatre Enthusiasts who need to read quickly for shows. Worship Singers benefit from being able to read confidently in group or solo settings. I use a mix of drills, short exercises, and real pieces. Students learn to process rhythms and notes quickly. Mistakes are treated as part of progress, not setbacks. Over time, learners gain independence in their reading. The aim is always to play new music with ease and confidence.
