About Sienna
I bring 7 years of teaching experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the therapeutic and expressive power of music. I guide students to use the violin for mindfulness, emotional release, and storytelling. Each lesson is a balance of music-making and personal reflection. Improvisation opens space for authentic self-expression. Journaling helps capture feelings and connect them to sound. Soundscape creation allows students to explore their emotions in new ways. I have worked with neurodiverse learners and trauma survivors, as well as adults seeking music for healing. Lessons are tailored with care and compassion to meet individual needs. I focus on building not only skills but also inner resilience. Music is a safe place where emotions can flow freely. The violin becomes more than an instrument—it becomes a voice of healing. Together, we use it to nurture peace, strength, and connection.

Bowing is at the heart of my violin teaching, and my method builds a strong foundation for expressive sound. Students first learn how to hold the bow naturally and move with freedom. We focus on tone, making sure every note resonates clearly and beautifully. Dynamic control is developed gradually, so students can express both strength and delicacy. I teach bow strokes like legato for flowing lines, detaché for clarity, and spiccato for lively passages. My exercises are designed to build control in the bow arm while keeping it relaxed. Shower Singers and Choir Members often bring a sense of musical phrasing, which I help them adapt to the violin. Their natural expressiveness is an asset, and I support them in refining it with technique. Lessons are practical, supportive, and mindful of each student’s journey. My teaching combines structure with creativity. Each lesson builds skill and confidence. Over time, students learn to communicate with the violin as if it were their voice. You’ll discover the joy of producing warm, expressive sounds.
