About Madeleine

As a PPE student at Durham University, I passed my baccalaureate with first-class honors.
I am a very serious student and have always been the first in my class. I am hard-working and determined and dynamic: I love more than anything to share my passion, my knowledge, my techniques and my strategies.
This is not the first time I have given tutoring: I have been doing so for almost 4 years now and I am even very involved in associations with which I volunteered and helped children from underprivileged areas.

I am very methodical and have techniques that can help from maths exercises to text analysis in French, including plans for oral exams and essays.
I also like doing a summary at the end of a lesson.

In my final year of high school, I did further maths. I got 17/20 in the French Baccalaureate and 19/20 in the written Philosophy exam, so I am equally at ease with subjects that require writing essays and commentaries, also in Philosophy (where I got 19/20 in the written exam), and of course in English, where I am bilingual.
Having got 19 in HGGSP, I am passionate about geopolitics, which I am still studying this year at a very advanced level. As such,

Finally, I am fluent in English, and can even help with the preparation of international English level tests such as IELTS.
I also have a B2/C1 level in German, a language I really enjoy speaking and teaching.

I am also very happy to help English speakers to learn F

Having passed my baccalauréat (Mention Très Bien and Congratulations from the jury, 19.56 average) last year, I am part of the first and so far only generation to have experienced the new bac and the new Parcoursup system. I am therefore very familiar with the new programs and tests and this allows me to give informed advice to my students. Moreover, having obtained all my 20 Parcoursup wishes in France, I know how to write the very short (1500 characters including spaces) but extremely important (and I insist on their very important role because they are unfortunately often underestimated by the teachers) Parcousup cover letters.
Young and dynamic, I believe in the power of dialogue and discussion, which help to memorize more efficiently. Moreover, I am empathetic and I truly understand the stress of high school students, but I actually have many tips and strategies for success to give them, which I have worked out throughout my years in high school.
The way I teach varies according to the subjects I teach and I adapt very quickly to the student in front of me.
In Geopolitics, Philosophy or Economics: I like to start with a general knowledge point, often related to current events, that aims to enrich the student's general knowledge.
Mathematics: I like to explain the exercises in a very methodical way by presenting the typical exercises and the methods that ought to be applied (the baccalauréat has a typical scheme which can be spotted)

As a native speaker, I can help English natives to learn French.
