About Amy
Hi! I'm Amy and I absolutely love English, but that has not always been the case. In fact, throughout secondary school, I was predicted to get a 4 at GCSE, but would never get higher than that in mock tests. However, in year 11, something clicked in me and I decided to make some changes, in turn helping to miraculously secure me a 9 at GCSE. I even ended up loving English so much that I took it at A-level too, and now I do English Language and Linguistics at university. If you are struggling with this subject, I want you to know that I have been there and I really do understand how you feel. Importantly though, no matter what level you are at, there's always time to improve and I believe, together, we can get you to where you want to be.

As your tutor, I hope to provide valuable and engaging lessons in a safe and supportive environment. This is a judgement-free zone, open to anyone needing extra support and encouragement in their year 7-11 English skills. Typically, lessons will be around 30 minutes to 1 hour long, and focus on key skills, essay preparation, and some handy tips I used when taking my own GCSEs.
