About Lauren
Over the past 11 years, I’ve taught piano to around 150 to 200 students, from high schoolers just starting out to college students working on advanced pieces. I focus on making music lessons creative, simple, and enjoyable. I encourage students to play what they love while also learning the foundations of music theory and technique. I believe every student can become a great pianist with the right guidance. One of my favorite moments was helping a student write their own song and then perform it at a school concert. It showed me how powerful creativity can be when it’s supported. I love helping students reach their goals, whether it’s passing an exam, joining a music program, or just playing for fun.

"The foundation of my piano teaching is communication, accountability, and integrity. These principles help create a learning experience that is both effective and enjoyable.
Clear communication is essential. I make sure students understand every part of the lesson and encourage them to ask questions whenever they need clarification. I listen closely to their goals and challenges, and adjust my teaching style to fit their needs. Accountability helps students stay focused and organized. I help students set clear goals and design practice plans that encourage daily progress. Regular feedback sessions keep students motivated and responsible for their growth. Integrity means honesty and respect. I offer honest feedback in a positive way and encourage students to keep practicing even when things get difficult. I respect each student’s unique pace and style, making lessons personalized and supportive.
In addition to piano technique, I teach music theory, sight-reading, and rhythm skills. These topics give students a well-rounded understanding of music and improve their overall musicianship. With communication, accountability, and integrity, I guide students on a rewarding path to becoming confident and skilled piano players."
