About Mark
I’m a passionate singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education (Voice Focus). My journey has led me to work with choirs, vocal ensembles, and singers of all ages, helping them discover the power of voices coming together. I specialize in styles like Classical, Sacred, A Cappella, and Barbershop, creating a diverse and rich learning experience for every student. In my lessons, we explore essential skills like sight singing, solfège, and part-singing to build confidence and accuracy. I love guiding students through the art of choral blend, helping each voice shine while creating a unified, harmonious sound. For those leading or preparing for performances, I bring experience in rehearsal leadership, ensuring every session is focused, productive, and inspiring. Over the years, I’ve worked with school choirs, college ensembles, and community singing groups, watching them grow into cohesive and confident performers. I understand how to motivate beginners finding their voice, as well as more advanced singers refining their technique. Every class balances technical growth with the joy of making music together. My voice lessons methodology is built to guide every student toward healthy, expressive singing while adapting to their unique needs and goals. Breathing techniques come first—we work on posture, diaphragmatic control, and gentle exercises that build stamina without strain. Vocal health is a priority, so I teach warm-ups, cool-downs, and habits to keep the voice strong and injury-free.
For pitch training, I use apps for ear training and vocal tracking, so students can see and hear their progress in real time. This is especially helpful for those who want accuracy and confidence when singing alone or in a group.
Students with a structured, methodical learning style benefit from a step-by-step approach to technique and phrasing, giving them a clear foundation to build on. Those who thrive in ensemble or performance settings explore emotional connection, stage presence, and how to blend their voice while keeping their individuality.
