About Reid
As a violin tutor, I bring a motivational and encouraging approach to each lesson. I believe in celebrating small victories and helping students build confidence as they progress. My goal is to inspire a genuine love for the violin and keep students excited about their musical journey.
My teaching style is both organized and structured, ensuring that each session is well-planned and effective. I use a clear curriculum to guide students through various levels, from beginner to advanced, with a focus on achieving measurable progress in every lesson.
I am empathetic and understanding, adapting my teaching methods to suit each student’s unique needs. I also offer creative solutions to overcome any challenges, making sure that each student feels supported and motivated throughout their learning experience.

I offer structured and organized violin lessons that cater to all levels, from novices to advanced players. My sessions are designed to be engaging and practical, with a focus on real-life examples and case studies to illustrate key concepts and techniques.
We cover a range of topics including basic bowing techniques, posture and hand positioning, reading sheet music, scales and arpeggios, intonation and tuning, vibrato, shifting, dynamics, phrasing, and interpretation. Each topic is approached methodically to ensure a solid understanding and mastery.
Through detailed case studies, students learn how different techniques are applied in various musical contexts. This approach helps in developing a deeper appreciation and grasp of violin playing, making lessons both insightful and practical.
With over a decade of teaching experience, my goal is to make learning the violin a rewarding experience. I strive to ignite a passion for music in my students, guiding them to achieve their musical goals with confidence and skill.
