Hello! I am a student based in London. I have completed my teaching diploma (PGDE) with Teach First, and I have a degree from Oxford University in French and Arabic. My lessons are especially directed at those applying to university to study French and/or Arabic, and will follow the informal dialogue structure of an Oxbridge tutorial. My aim is to help students prepare for university entrance interviews and tests, especially for Oxford and Cambridge, as well as develop their understanding of and interest in literature and languages. I am also able to offer GCSE-level tutoring in French and English, which is structured around the curriculum.
I have two years of experience working in state schools, and have taught pupils at various levels. During this time, I have prepared over 100 pupils for French GCSE. Alongside my formal teaching, I have also prepared students for applications to university for French and/or Arabic, including for the Oxford MLAT and OLAT entrance tests.
The rate depends on the student's level. For GCSE & A-Level, I charge £25, but for applications to university, I charge £30.
Distinction in PGDE from Birmingham City University
First Class Honours in BA from University of Oxford
2 A*s and 1 A at A Level
4 As at AS Level
9 A*s at GCSE
I have been teaching languages since I was 15. Since then I have worked in many schools, organisations and companies requiring refined and effective communication and explanatory skills.
I am a teacher with two years' experience of teaching in a tough inner-city Birmingham state school. I have a sophisticated understanding of teaching methodologies and their application to different kinds of students. I also have experience tutoring 1-1 with both children and adults.
Applying and obtaining a place at Oxbridge initially appears a formidable challenge, but with sensible and strategic preparation, it does not need to be! In my Oxbridge sessions, I am able to help nurture and support a student's interests, hone their interview skills, and prepare them for the entrance exams (particularly MLAT & OLAT).
