About Anthony
I have recently graduated with a First Class degree having studied for a Masters of Physics at the University of Kent. During my time at Kent, I have represented the UK at the international theoretical physics competition PLANCKS along with a team from Oxford and Edinburgh, after winning the UK preliminaries.
In my final year research project looked into Quantum Transport in Many-Body Finite Lattice Systems both a highly mathematical and computationally based project, I have also carried out research projects on fusion reactor simulations and orbital dynamics.
I have A-levels in Chemistry, Maths and Physics as well as a AS level in philosophy. When completing my A-levels I also completed an EPQ on the future of humanity and how the Moon and Mars could be helpful in humanities progression through the stars.
Over the years I had encouraged young people to become more involved in the sciences by running a science club at my secondary school and by going to my local Scout groups running the scientist badge. I wholeheartedly believe that maths and science is essential to everyone's lives especially in the ever advancing technological world we live in and by studying these subjects we not only allow ourselves to understand the world around us but to in someway improve it.
I have tutor students previously in GCSE Chemistry and Physics, A-level Maths and Physics and Undergraduate Physics.

I like to see how my students can handle a question, this allows me to gauge what level of tutoring they require and what where would be the best place to start teaching them how to approach a problem. To do this I will set them a problem, most likely a past exam paper question.
From this I will see what topics and areas we need to focus on. I always believe that it is more important to teach the skill of approaching and understanding a problem, then just solving a problem.

Anthony is a friendly engaging teacher who will encourage you to make your own conclusions, learning a lot in the process. There has been many a time where I have been stuck on a physics or maths problem and rather than showing me exactly what to do, he explains some of the steps and asks what I think. After a few minutes of this, I then find I am able to find the solution I was looking for and understand the process much deeper. I would recommend Anthony's teaching to anyone.
Anthony is hardworking physicist, who prides himself on his academic achievements. He has a thorough understanding of physics which allows him to be concise when explaining complex concepts. He is able to succinctly communicate subject matter whilst targeting the contents to the level of the student.
I have had the pleasure of being a classmate of Anthony for four years, and over this time he has proven that he is a compassionate and accommodating individual who is well suited to the role of a tutor.Anthony Quinlans tutoring abilities are simply brilliant.
