I vary my teaching style based on who I am mentoring. For example, if a student is struggling with grammar, I will try and go through grammar points step by step and perhaps provide some exercises to complete so they can put what they have learnt into practise. However, if an individual is struggling with pronunciation, the lesson I'd provide would not focus so much on grammar. With languages, there are so many different aspects to consider so it is impossible to follow one teaching structure.
I am currently studying at King's College London and I have previously mentored students at school who were struggling with languages. I would help individuals understand both the basics and also more difficult grammatical content. In my A Levels, I got an A* in both French and Spanish.
