About Emmett
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music and have been teaching guitar for eight years, working with students of all ages. My passion lies in helping others unlock their musical voice through a patient and structured approach that adapts to each learner’s needs. Over the years, I’ve taught in group classes, private one-on-one sessions, and online settings. I specialize in helping beginners feel comfortable and confident, while also guiding intermediate players through more advanced techniques and musical theory as they work toward specific goals. When I’m not teaching, I’m composing and performing regularly, always looking for new techniques to bring into the lesson space. I believe music is a lifelong journey, and it’s a privilege to help students grow into their sound one note at a time.

Each lesson starts with foundational skills tailored to your level—whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or returning after a break. We begin with simple chord shapes, strumming patterns, and tuning, helping you form good habits and avoid frustration early on.
As you improve, lessons include fingerstyle, barre chords, scale practice, and rhythmic development. You'll play along to familiar songs, allowing you to connect theory with practice. We'll also cover music reading basics or tabs, depending on your learning preference and goals.
For those interested in songwriting, improvisation, or specific genres, we’ll build sessions around your musical interests. Whether acoustic or electric, lessons are engaging and personal, blending structure with creativity so that your confidence and technical skills grow together in harmony.
