About Aria
I have been teaching violin for over five years and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance, specialising in Baroque Violin. I especially enjoy working with young children and helping them develop a strong musical ear early in life. My lessons focus on ear training, listening, and imitation before notation, so children feel confident from the very beginning. I use storytelling to introduce concepts in ways children can easily understand. Games that involve rhythm and movement make lessons lively and engaging. Simple melodies allow for early successes, which motivate children to keep exploring. My teaching is shaped by Suzuki and Kodály methods, both of which highlight listening, singing, and learning by doing. I adapt these strategies with creativity and fun. Each child’s imagination becomes part of the lesson, making music both educational and exciting. I encourage active participation and playful exploration of sound. Through these methods, children naturally develop technique, coordination, and musicianship. The lessons are not just about notes, but about building a lifelong love of music. I invite young learners to discover the violin in a joyful, playful way that grows both their ears and their hearts.

In my violin teaching, I place equal importance on both playing and instrument care. My approach ensures students know not only how to perform but also how to maintain their violin properly. I introduce the basics of handling the instrument safely to prevent wear and damage. Cleaning routines are explained step by step so students can keep their violin looking and sounding its best. I also teach how to change strings and recognise when replacements are needed. Many students are nervous about string changing at first, but I make the process simple and manageable. Troubleshooting lessons cover common problems like tuning difficulties or sticky fine tuners. These skills help students become independent musicians who can trust their instrument. I’m very good with The Content Creator and The Shower Singer, and I prepare them to keep their violin in top shape for both practice and performance. Every lesson balances practical care with musical growth. I believe an instrument that is well cared for supports better playing. Students leave with confidence in both their music and their maintenance abilities. You’ll know your violin inside and out, ready to play whenever you are.
